Devotional Texts
What is it?
Texting is a great tool for connecting with people. I want this to become the home site for a devotional texting that will happen as five days a week. Currently Wednesday’s and Sunday’s I will not send a devotional text.
I will send the address of the verse, and I will attempt to ask a thought provoking question, to encourage responses. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Each devotional text has the link to this site at the top and then the address and the question or meditation. It is a good challenge to get it all into 160 characters.
The Advantages :
1. Texts are easy to respond to.
2. This allows everyone to keep in touch, in between meetings.
3. The whole group is encouraged to interact for each text.
4. You have the person’s number who sends you the text, so you can call, or text, if you need to chat or meet.
5. Inviting a person is as simple asking, getting their number, and forwarding the text to them. I encourage you to send the texts to your friends to form a web of texting devotionals . This Blog will act as a point, and will archive all texts sent from me.
6. This provides an easy way to get into God’s word without being intimidated.
7. Everyone love receiving texts, especially if it is more than a word or two
I am using www.biblegateway.com, so I don’t make any error’s in transferring the bible verse to this post. The verses I am using are listed as “Popular bible quotations for memorization, and meditation” and are in the back of my bible. I use the New International Version (NIV). Though other devotionals may be used.
2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
Why?
Text pages are limited to 160 characters. So challenge yourself in the responses, say something more than “that verse really hits home,” tell us why.
