7 The LORD is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him,
The more we understand about God’s power, the less we worry about our weakness. Why don’t we trust Him more?

17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
When you are discouraged know that God asks us to trust in His faithfulness. Seriously, don’t worry.

8 He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
Does a life of justice, mercy, and humility start overnight, or in a dramatic transformation? Then how does it happen?

3 The pride of your heart has deceived you,
you who live in the clefts of the rocks [a]
and make your home on the heights,
you who say to yourself,
‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’
4 Though you soar like the eagle
and make your nest among the stars,
from there I will bring you down,”
declares the LORD.
Our pride must be placed in the Lord, because there it will evoke compassion instead of arrogance.

1 From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God. 2 He said:
“In my distress I called to the LORD,
and he answered me.
From the depths of the grave [a] I called for help,
and you listened to my cry.
Do we have to wait until we are in a crisis to call out to God? Is there any place, or time that He can’t hear us?

11 “The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD,
“when I will send a famine through the land—
not a famine of food or a thirst for water,
but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
How do you see this famine in everyday life, and what can we do to stop it?

3 Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”
Can God be unfaithful in anything he does? If not, then why do we question His actions in everything we do?

3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
How much of our lives go unexamined and lacking discernment; and somehow God still sees us as shining stars.

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.
17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king.
18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
This shows an ultimate faith in God, no matter what happens. Can you be unshakable for God?

21 He changes times and seasons;
he sets up kings and deposes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.
God’s vast control is too often unacknowledged. What can we do to acknowledge His control in our daily actions?
